Tackling cross-cultural issues within the romcom genre is no easy feat, and I think director Keith Qi Chen has done a commendable job, using striking visuals to mirror the inner world of the characters. As the struggling Asian immigrant, Celine Li delivers an outstanding performance!

Very special and unique film, beautifully shot and the scenery is stunning. The pacing is slow but focused and its quietness allows for the viewer to reflect and build their own interpretation of the story without being guided too much. The performances are terrific all around, especially Celine Li’s portrayal of a woman who is trying to navigate through different relationships and cultures. There are so many nuances to discover here that I feel that it’s worth watching a second time. Very relatable to anyone who has immigrated to a country with different values and is struggling to adapt. Highly recommended.
